Rules

Otherservers are not as cut and loose as most TF2 servers, and we intend to keep it safe and welcoming for all who intend to participate, while keeping out bad actors.

By participating in any Otherserver, you agree to these rules. Please read these rules thoroughly.

These rules may be updated at any time, check the news for updates to the rules.

Universal

These rules apply to every Otherserver, without exception.

  1. Don’t be a prick. All over rules stem from this rule, and this is considered the most important rule. If a certain rule doesn’t exist, weigh it against this.
  2. Be respectful to others, whether in text chat, voice chat, or other methods of communication.
  3. No cheating, hacking, scripting, or gaming of any system.
  4. No advertising on our servers, whether it’s your community, Discord server, other server, or what have you.
  5. Speak in English only, such that others may understand you.
  6. No NSFW content of any kind on our servers, except for OSHA violations.

Team Fortress 2

These rules apply on our TF2 servers.

  1. Use binds in moderation. Scripts are also allowed, but do not attempt to automate the game.
  2. Micspamming is allowed. Please see the dedicated Micspamming section.

Micspamming

These rules apply to playing music or sound effects over voice chat.

  1. Don’t use your phone. Micspams should be played through appropriate software.
  2. Don’t play it too loudly. Not only does TF2’s voice compression hate loud music, but people’s ears hate it too.
  3. One at a time. If another person is playing music, wait for them to finish. Muting other micspammers does not make you exempt from this rule.
  4. Don’t hog the mic, share it instead. If other people want to play music too, give them time to do so. Sound effects are okay in moderation.

Versus Saxton Hale

These rules are specific to the Versus Saxton Hale gamemodes.

  1. Do not idle. Being AFK and refusing to fight (being friendly) are the same in this rule.
  2. The player who is Hale may take Micspam priority to play their own boss theme, if they have one.
